We reserve the right to update, modify, or change this Acceptable Use Policy at any time and at our sole discretion, without providing individual notice to users. Changes become effective immediately upon posting to this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document indicates when this policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. You are responsible for reviewing this policy periodically.


1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules and guidelines for using the Gatherilla platform and services (the “Service”). It is designed to ensure that all users can enjoy a safe, respectful, and professional environment.

This Policy applies to all users of the Service, including individuals, organisations, and their employees or representatives. It forms part of your agreement with us, alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.

1.2 Professional Context

Gatherilla is designed for professional and business environments. Our games are intended to be played during work meetings, team-building sessions, and professional gatherings. All content and behaviour on the platform should be appropriate for a workplace setting.


2. PERMITTED USES

You may use the Service for the following purposes:

2.1 Intended Uses

(a) Team building and engagement activities within your organisation;

(b) Breaking the ice during meetings, onboarding sessions, or company events;

© Facilitating collaboration and communication among team members;

(d) Remote team bonding during video calls or virtual meetings;

(e) In-person team activities during meetings, conferences, or retreats; and

(f) Personal entertainment among adult friends and family, provided you comply with this Policy.

2.2 Account Management

(a) Creating accounts for legitimate business or personal use;

(b) Inviting team members to join your organisation’s account;

© Managing user access and permissions within your organisation; and

(d) Using the Service’s features as intended and documented.


3. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You must not engage in any of the following prohibited activities when using the Service:

3.1 Illegal Activities

(a) Using the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations;

(b) Engaging in, facilitating, or promoting illegal activities;

© Violating intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents; and

(d) Engaging in money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.

3.2 Harmful or Offensive Content

(a) Posting, sharing, or transmitting content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit;

(b) Creating, uploading, or sharing content that depicts or promotes violence, gore, or cruelty;

© Sharing content that is harassing, threatening, or intimidating to others;

(d) Posting content that promotes discrimination, hatred, or prejudice based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic;

(e) Using offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate language in game submissions, usernames, or organisation names; and

(f) Sharing content that is inappropriate for professional or workplace environments.

3.3 Harassment and Abuse

(a) Bullying, harassing, or intimidating other users;

(b) Stalking or engaging in unwanted contact with other users;

© Making threats of violence or harm against any person or group;

(d) Engaging in targeted abuse or coordinated harassment campaigns; and

(e) Publishing private or personal information about others without their consent (doxxing).

3.4 Impersonation and Fraud

(a) Impersonating any person, business, or entity;

(b) Falsely claiming affiliation with any person, business, or entity;

© Creating fake accounts or organisations;

(d) Providing false or misleading information during account registration; and

(e) Engaging in phishing or social engineering attacks.

3.5 Security Violations

(a) Attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other user accounts, or computer systems;

(b) Interfering with or disrupting the Service, servers, or networks;

© Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorisation;

(d) Introducing viruses, malware, worms, or other malicious code;

(e) Circumventing, disabling, or interfering with security features of the Service;

(f) Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service without our prior written consent; and

(g) Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

3.6 Spam and Abuse

(a) Sending unsolicited communications, promotions, or advertisements;

(b) Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse the free tier;

© Using the Service to distribute spam or malware;

(d) Manipulating the Service or its features for unfair advantage; and

(e) Repeatedly joining game sessions to disrupt or sabotage gameplay.

3.7 Misuse of the Service

(a) Using the Service in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose;

(b) Reselling, redistributing, or sublicensing access to the Service without authorisation;

© Using the Service to compete with Gatherilla or develop a competing product;

(d) Scraping, data mining, or extracting data from the Service; and

(e) Using the Service in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.


4. CONTENT GUIDELINES

4.1 User-Submitted Content

When participating in games, you may be asked to submit answers, guesses, or other content. All content you submit must:

(a) Be appropriate for a professional workplace environment;

(b) Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language;

© Not include personal attacks or derogatory comments about colleagues;

(d) Not violate the intellectual property rights of others; and

(e) Comply with all other provisions of this Policy.

4.2 Organisation and User Names

When creating accounts, organisations, or usernames, you must ensure that names:

(a) Do not impersonate another person, business, or entity;

(b) Do not contain offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate language;

© Do not promote hatred, discrimination, or illegal activities; and

(d) Are appropriate for display in a professional setting.

4.3 Game Session Content

Game hosts are responsible for ensuring that game sessions are conducted appropriately. Hosts should:

(a) Set appropriate expectations for participants;

(b) Monitor submissions and gameplay for inappropriate content;

© Take action to address any violations of this Policy; and

(d) Report serious violations to Gatherilla.


5. REPORTING VIOLATIONS

5.1 How to Report

If you become aware of any violation of this Policy, please report it to us immediately by:

(a) Emailing support@gatherilla.com with details of the violation; or

(b) Using any in-platform reporting features we may provide.

5.2 Information to Include

When reporting a violation, please include:

(a) A description of the violation;

(b) The date and time of the incident;

© Any relevant usernames, organisation names, or account details;

(d) Screenshots or other evidence, if available; and

(e) Your contact information (for follow-up purposes only).

5.3 Confidentiality

We will treat all reports confidentially to the extent possible. We may need to share information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by law.


6. ENFORCEMENT

6.1 Investigation

We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violation of this Policy. During an investigation, we may:

(a) Review account activity and content;

(b) Temporarily suspend access to the Service;

© Request additional information from the user; and

(d) Cooperate with law enforcement or regulatory authorities.

6.2 Consequences

If we determine that you have violated this Policy, we may take one or more of the following actions, at our sole discretion:

(a) Issue a warning;

(b) Temporarily suspend your account or access to certain features;

© Permanently terminate your account;

(d) Remove or disable access to content that violates this Policy;

(e) Report the violation to law enforcement or relevant authorities;

(f) Take legal action against you; and

(g) Any other action we deem appropriate.

6.3 Factors We Consider

When determining the appropriate response to a violation, we may consider factors including:

(a) The severity and nature of the violation;

(b) Whether the violation was intentional or repeated;

© The impact on other users or the Service;

(d) Your history of compliance with this Policy;

(e) Any mitigating or aggravating circumstances; and

(f) Legal requirements or obligations.

6.4 No Refunds

If your account is terminated due to a violation of this Policy, you will not be entitled to any refund of prepaid fees.


7. APPEALS

7.1 Right to Appeal

If you believe we have taken action against your account in error, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at support@gatherilla.com within 14 days of receiving notice of our action.

7.2 Appeal Process

When submitting an appeal, please include:

(a) Your account details;

(b) The action taken against your account;

© Why you believe the action was taken in error; and

(d) Any supporting evidence or information.

7.3 Decision

We will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Our decision on appeals is final.


8. ORGANISATION RESPONSIBILITIES

8.1 Administrator Duties

If you are an administrator of an Organisation account, you are responsible for:

(a) Ensuring all users within your Organisation comply with this Policy;

(b) Managing user access and permissions appropriately;

© Addressing violations within your Organisation promptly;

(d) Reporting serious violations to Gatherilla; and

(e) Educating users within your Organisation about this Policy.

8.2 Liability

Organisations may be held responsible for violations committed by users within their Organisation account. We may take action against the entire Organisation account if violations are widespread or systematic.


9. COOPERATION WITH AUTHORITIES

We will cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities as required by law. This may include:

(a) Disclosing information about users and their activities;

(b) Preserving data relevant to investigations;

© Removing content upon legal request; and

(d) Providing testimony or other assistance as required.


10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.

We are not obligated to provide individual notice of changes. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
